Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
I am 33 yrs old and despite being college educated I was in the dark about
the treatment of animals, not only around the world but in my very own
nation. I am severely distressed and through it am starting a non-profit
world animal rights organization with it's main focus being to educate
then dissolve the seemingly current apathy amidst the majority of citizens in this
country regarding animal abuse. I didn't know a
month ago what a difference I, as one person, could make - but I do now.
Senator, there are too many issues to throw at you, or at any one person
but what I'm starting with are two issues; free-trade agreements and
fur-trade regulation. Senator, why is the fur trade industry not
regulated, why are free trade agreements stopping us from being able to
protect live stock and to implement and enforce humane conditions for
these poor animals that are bred solely for a life of misery before death. I am pained enough to be called into action on these topics
and more.
I beg of you to put these topics on your agenda as they deserve consideration.
I appreciate your time.

Mayor
Mike Bloomberg
Friday's death of Smoothie, the Central Park carriage horse, has
propelled me to write. This, of course, is not the first time a senseless
death has occurred for either animal or human. Next time it could be
a bus/horse collision but you have the opportunity to avoid this and make
things better. This may not be your first priority but how much time
would it take to amend and enforce a mandate for shorter hours in extreme
weather, sufficient water, drainage and hitching posts. Please help.
Please do what you can.
I appreciate your time.
